Meet Casandra – Online Reading Teacher for Multilingual Learners.

From global research to global classrooms

Once upon a reading lesson (and several cups of coffee ago), I traded my days in international research compliance for the bright-eyed world of children’s literacy education. With a BA in Political Science and a Master’s in Philosophy with a Bioethics focus, my path led from working with doctors and researchers worldwide to designing phonics lessons for multilingual children. Today, I am the founder of Tokiphon, a program that blends research-backed reading instruction with art, humor, and hands-on engagement. My mission is to offer fun, online reading classes that turn struggling readers into confident ones and make learning feel like an adventure every child wants to join.

Turning playtime energy into reading success

When I am not decoding tricky phonics patterns, I am building pillow forts, exploring skate parks, and practicing archery with my eight-year-old son. We are partners in every sense, from jujitsu training to snack-time stand-up comedy. That same joy and curiosity power Tokiphon’s online phonics tutoring for kids. My lessons are designed to keep children engaged through humor, colorful visuals, and interactive challenges. Parents often tell me their children look forward to reading lessons, and that is no accident. When children laugh, they focus, and when they focus, their reading confidence grows.

Educational design with a whimsical twist.

I have rescued Mexican street dogs, adopted French cats, and surrounded my life with stories, colors, and curiosity. Every Tokiphon reading lesson comes to life with custom graphics I design myself, blending retro-inspired art with teaching strategies that work. I constantly research new ways to help children master phonics, from playful badge boards to story-driven games. Parents describe my program as fun and effective reading instruction that keeps kids coming back, and children simply call it “the best part of my week.”
